Share the message of FA with your Health Care Professional
We encourage members to reach out to health care professionals with whom we have existing relationships. The miracle of our abstinence is an entry point for conversations with them about your experience of food addiction and recovery.
Health care professionals include physicians, nurses, medical assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, aestheticians, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, mental health workers, etc. They are in a position to hear from suffering food addicts and their family members, and many are eager for resources that can help
Here are some ways you can share the message of FA with your health care professional:
- Hand them the pamphlet, “Food Addiction and the FA Solution” or the booklet, “Food Addicts in Recovery the First Two Chapters."
- Refer them to the Podcast webpage, where they can find podcast recordings of FA members’ stories.
If they ask for more information, you can contact the Public Information Committees (waipi@foodaddicts.org, eaipi@foodaddicts.org, or mepi@foodaddicts.org ) of your local Intergroups or Chapters and ask them to arrange an information session, including the Health Care Provider Slide Show.
