"Sugar made my mood unstable. In FA I detoxed and lost over 100 pounds."
When I came to FA I was 130 pounds heavier than I am now, but that wasn't the worst of it. My feelings were a roller coaster of never-ending ups and downs. My mood was completely unstable. I was extremely rude to those closest to me.
I know sugar is an addiction because I had an intense detoxification period.
I never want to go through that hell again. The only roller coaster that I ride on today is the one of life, and I’m not sick to my stomach doing it!
"I would scoop sugar into my breakfast bowl and spend all my money on sweets. In FA I don't crave sugar or even think about it anymore."
My craving for sweets was more than that of the average child. I would scoop sugar into my breakfast bowl until there was a wet dense mixture on the bottom.
When I got a little older, I took money from my allowance, or babysitting, and went straight to the store. I could find a way to stretch that money and get as much as possible for the amount I had.
My sugar addiction got worse when I got my first job. Now I had my own money and could buy sweets. Each day was another day spinning my wheels and trying to eat sensibly. I was retiring each night feeling completely defeated and discouraged because addiction had won again.
Then FA came along. One of the most amazing parts about this program is that I don’t crave sugar, or even think about it anymore. I don’t miss it and I don’t ever want it again.
"FA worked on my internal chemistry."
When I was 20 years old, I told my parents that I was addicted to sugar. 30 years later, my bingeing was uncontrollable and I couldn’t stop. I was eating two-to-three family-size boxes of treats in my car at lunchtime every day, in addition to all my meals and nighttime junk.
After just 90 days in FA, I had several signs that the program was working physically, both in weight and chemistry. At my first weigh-in, I was able to document a loss of 21.8 pounds. My blood work received an “excellent” from my doctor, and my cholesterol was reduced by 57 points. My triglycerides dropped by half and my blood pressure lowered by an average of 15 points.
