Finance Committee Member

Position Title: Finance Committee Member

Commitment: Quarterly meetings (plus occasional email/phone follow-up)

Term: Two years

Abstinence Requirement: Five years of continuous abstinence, working with an FA sponsor and have completed one in-depth study of the Twelve Steps in sequence, using a method focused on food addiction and requiring abstinence throughout each Step, within the current term of abstinence.

Purpose:
Support the financial health and long-term stability of the organization by reviewing budgets, financial reports, internal controls, and other financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and provide input on annual budgets and periodic financial reports.
Monitor internal controls to help safeguard organizational assets.
Identify potential risks and recommend strategies for financial stability.
Offer guidance on financial policies and procedures.
Support transparency and accountability in financial operations.
Attend quarterly committee meetings and participate in interim communications as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience in finance, accounting, business management, or related field.
Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate financial statements.
Understanding of non-profit financial practices preferred.
Commitment to the FA’s mission and principles.
Willingness to collaborate and offer constructive input.
