For Eastern Area Intergroup

Connection

The EAI connection Committee supports the FA magazine by gathering together groups of writers and artists from across the areas EAI serves to encourage contributions of stories and art work to the magazine. In addition, the committee strengthens a growing connection Representative network within the EAI area, works to increase the use of the magazine in the lives of FA members, especially those in new/small/outlying meetings, and actively seeks feedback from EAI members concerning ways to improve the content and design of the magazine. Finally, the committee facilitates writing sessions and supports the development of writing teams and writing team leaders to grow the pipeline of great stories from recovering food addicts.

Write Your Story!

Any member with 90 days of continuous abstinence in FA may submit a story of experience, strength, and hope. The connection committee looks for stories that are much like "shares" in front of the rooms of FA. Readers benefit from details and specifics about what you were like (physically, mentally, and spiritually) before FA, how you found Program, and what you are like now, in recovery.

All stories are edited and are considered for publication. Please don't take it personally if your piece doesn't show up. Your writing is a tool and a service.

Host a Writing Session

If your meeting, region, or chapter would like to bring your fellowship together around a writing session, please contact us at eaiconnection@foodaddicts.org.  (See link below.)

Become a Writing Team Leader

If you have a year or more of continuous abstinence, consider being a connection writing team leader. As a team leader, you will be responsible for soliciting 4-5 articles a month and joining the connection editorial team for monthly updates via conference calls. Contact us at connection@foodaddicts.org for more information.
